  1. Small crew. Professional work. From field measurements to client reports. Less paperwork, more clarity: calculations, job records and branded reports.
  2. Useful answers, right in the field. Free calculators need no signup: grade and slope, trench and stockpile volumes, truck loads and pad estimates. Inputs and assumptions stay visible.
  3. Take the next shot. Keep the last one. Carry your height of instrument, add points and notes, and review readings in a report. A field book that stays with the job.
  4. Every useful way to review the model. Bring supported CSV and LandXML files. View the survey as a filled surface in terrain, blue/orange or grayscale colors; add the design as a wireframe; show cut and fill on the surface (red cut, blue fill, green within tolerance) or as markers at measured points; look straight down to check coverage; and change vertical exaggeration from 1× to 20×. Save a view for a report. This presentation illustrates 117 synthetic survey points; point markers describe sampled locations, not cut/fill volumes.
  5. Road sections. Ready to report. A 24-foot road with a 2% crown and 2H:1V side slopes is compared with example ground. Switch between color and black-and-white charts, then prepare a sheet with your company logo, page size and scale. The sample section has 6.80 square feet of cut and 8.89 square feet of fill; these are areas, not volumes. Download the sample cross-section sheet, composed using the app’s actual chart output. The chart uses 3× vertical exaggeration; the video itself is not to printed scale.
  6. One job record, both sides of the day. Save on your phone and review on your computer. Keep crew schedules, hours by person, daily photos, tickets, notes, PDF markups and saved 3D views with the job.
  7. Got a task that needs a better tool? Reports, spreadsheets and custom workflows: share an example privately, review the scope and price, and receive finished files online. Scope and price are agreed before work begins.
  8. Built for the crew. Ready for the client. Driftless Solutions is veteran owned and operated, built on over 20 years in the field. Try a free tool or ask for a custom solution at driftlesssolutions.us.

01 / ELEVATION

Grade check

Turn benchmark and rod readings into an elevation. Check cut, fill and tolerance.

Benchmark → field reading
02 / SLOPE

Slope & grade

Read the same rise and run as a percentage, horizontal-to-vertical ratio or angle.

Rise + run → grade
03 / EARTHWORK

Trench volume

Calculate vertical, sloped or benched trenches with pipe displacement, bedding, backfill and hauling quantities.

Dimensions → cubic yards
04 / STOCKPILES

Stockpile volume

Choose a pile shape, calculate loose yards and check hauling, allowance and cost.

Pile dimensions → estimate
05 / HAULING

Truck loads

Compare truck volume and payload capacity to estimate the number of trips.

Volume + capacity → trips
06 / PAD ESTIMATES

Pad volume

Estimate average-depth cut or fill, with your planning allowance shown separately.

Area + depth → estimate
07 / SURVEY UNITS

Survey foot converter

Convert US survey feet, international feet and metres while keeping the source reference clear.

Known units → converted value
08 / PIPE

Pipe invert table

Carry a known invert down a constant grade and check every station.

Invert + grade → station table
09 / ROADS

Spring road restrictions

Pick a Wisconsin or Minnesota county to see state highway restriction status and who posts the county roads.

State + county → restrictions

VETERAN OWNED & OPERATED

Built from long days
in the field.

I’m Jesse, a family man and Army veteran with three deployments to the Middle East. With over 20 years of field experience, I know how frustrating a simple job can become when the tools get in the way.

Driftless Solutions comes from that experience. I’m building straightforward tools for the calculations, measurements and paperwork that small construction crews deal with every day.

The aim is simple: less time fighting software, more confidence in the work, and a little more time for the people waiting at home.
